Heather O’Shea To Lead The African Talent Agency Into The Future

ROAM announces new leadership for its specialized recruitment business. Heather O’Shea joins the group as the Managing Partner for “The African Talent Company” (‘TATC’) and will be responsible for overseeing operations and the strategic growth of the brand.

TATC is a subsidiary of the ROAM Group, housing the biggest and most successful recruitment websites in Africa. With a goal to make the recruitment process in Africa as seamless as possible, TATC has combined over 10 million candidate profiles, over 1 billion data points of candidates across Africa and excellent technological know-how to ensure we deliver exceptional world class service to our clients.

Heather has a compelling passion for the African continent that she calls home. She joins ROAM from the Standard Bank Group where she held the position of Head of Resourcing and Enablement. She was instrumental in the design and implementation of digital recruitment solutions, whilst managing the strategic resourcing strategy across the bank’s African Footprint. Previously she worked for the United Nations Development Programme, African Minerals and the Peopletree Group.

Her Human Capital career, spanning over 20 years of experience across Africa, has allowed her to assist in building organizational capabilities, enhancing skills, and the development of talent across 26 countries in Africa. Her work allowed her to see the potential of Africa, leading her to say that she does not “do recruitment”, but rather sees it as a key vehicle in which to enrich businesses and change lives.

Clemens Weitz, CEO of ROAM adds: “We currently see a rapidly growing demand for talent across the continent. Heather deeply understands both talent acquisition and strategic development in our very particular African context. We are delighted she has chosen ROAM, to jointly match the best talent and opportunities across the continent, and strategically lift the workforces of African corporates.”
